By strengthening and scaling the design team and setting a new tone for best practice, we delivered a comprehensive design system and an entirely redefined consumer experience for Net-A-Porter and MR PORTER.
Design system
HIVE (Holistic Interaction & Visual Experience) is the design system created and developed in-house for Net-A-Porter Group. The suite of shared styles, components, patterns and principles empowered the business to scale products rapidly and implement new features across brands simultaneously.
Sketch UI toolkit
Creating a modular toolkit of reusable components gave designers and developers have a single source of truth and meant richer, more intuitive experiences could be built quicker and at scale.





Style guidelines
For HIVE to be fully embraced and championed internally, digestible and actionable guidelines were created so consistent experiences for both brands could be easily made across web and native platforms.
An internal website documented every component and interaction while outlining the project’s principles, design decisions, and overarching ambitions.
Product redesign
With the design system, toolkit and style guidelines in place, we redesigned and re-architected the Net-A-Porter and MR PORTER experiences with precision and ease. While preserving both brands’ unique aesthetics, we created luxurious commercial and editorial experiences that delighted customers, aided conversion and better aligned to the company’s long-term ambitions.

Strategic design vision
Working closely with the newly-formed research team, we explored the future of online luxury retail by creating and validating several strategic design visions that combined data, business goals, and user needs with evolving technologies.

Creating a platform to help labels and brands analyse their data and turn actionable insights into increased revenue.
Wishlist
Exploring a more engaging and timely model for Wishlist, combining tailored recommendations with the ability to create personalised collections.
